DFI Session 4: Sharing

Kids born after 2005 (13 year olds) know no other world other than to share publicly online.
Sharing.
After our session today, I am keen to start blogging and posting; especially after hearing that 3 blog posts per week make results go up and 2 blog posts per week maintain levels. This week I will endeavour to make the connection with blogging and commenting just like Fiona shared.

Get ready Room 3. You will be posting at least 3 times this week and hopefully it will be just as entertaining as it looks thanks to lovely students from Room 13 & Ms Petrus from May Road School.

Thanks for teaching me how to use Google New Class Sites more efficiently Fiona.
My screen shot below is a work in progress.

Session 3 - Create, Create, Create

'Creative Skills help students become better problem solvers, communicators and collaborators' Today I enjoyed creating so many engaging and stimulating tasks using Google slides and Google drawings. Our focus was on creating. I will continue reflecting on the create aspect of LEARN, CREATE, SHARE in our class. Pretty proud of my animation slide and digital pepeha which is still a work in progress.

DFI Intensive Session 2

Today I learnt about Digital Fluency Pedagogy. Having access to people, ideas, rewindable learning to harness or enhance students learning are some points Joy shared today. Brain overload today; but definitely in a good way using Google Forms, Google My maps and Google Sheets. Had many lightbulb moments. Check out the tables and graphs I made using Google Sheets and unpacking data from Candice F da @ Glenbrae School. After our session today, I am confident that data entry will be far more organised, less complicated and done in a much shorter time. Thanks Joy, Gerhard and Maria for your expertise today.

Day 1: Removal Of Barriers.

Talofa Lava Everyone.

Wow!  Don't I feel smart.  Today was my first day in our Digital Fluency Incentives Manaiakalani course. It was a real eye opener into using Chrome and Google tools.  Next week I will be starting our class as if it was day one of 2018.  We will all be re-setting up systems to create new docs that go straight into the correct folders.  Room 3 will learning about headings and sub-headings by inserting contents tables.  Some of my lovelies will be voice typing and I will no longer be underlining words as new age underlining means a link of some sort.  My colleagues may be some what confused but my lovelies in Rm 3 will hopefully appreciate the amount of mind and will power it takes to remove the line from my bold headings.

'Removal of Barriers' was a quote from Gerhard Vermeulen that really got my attention.  I feel like  there were many barriers taken away today for me and my class.  It gave me the confidence to blog today which is one of those barriers that I will slowly chip at.  Thanks Tanya Ching for sharing your blog with me to help me make a professional blog so mine can look as styley as yours. Feel free to check out the link here :)

Great day today.  Couldn't have started any better than meeting and hanging out with Ulrike. Thanks to the whole team who supported me through today.  Looking forward to the next 8 session with the team.

DFI Session 9: It's a Wrap.

WHAT A COHORT! Check them out! Apparently the best cohort this year according to Gerhard and yes it still counts even if the other coho...
